... multidisciplinary cancer research at the highly successful 2008 conference of the International Society for Cellular Oncology

The ISCO Congress 2008 in Amsterdam is the past congress of the International Society for Cellular Oncology. The theme chosen for ISCO 2008 - “Cellular oncology: translating basic knowledge into clinical applications” - emphasizes the broad scope of the scientific program and illustrates the coverage of both clinical and non-clinical research at this congress. Over 300 delegates from all over the world attended the very lively scientific program with more than 30 invited speakers, over 40 proffered papers and more than 100 poster presentations, covering a wide range of topics.

As anticipated, the ISCO Congress 2008 proved to be an excellent opportunity for specialists in cellular and molecular oncology as well as associated research disciplines to meet their peers and colleagues and exchange the latest research findings. Topics were discussed from the basic as well as the clinical point of view, and in particular, at the interface of basic research and clinical practice.
